After sleeping on it (yes, my brain works best at night, dang it!) i think Goldie "finds" the right cup by sound. Look at those big ears! Many animals find their prey by listening. Cats are especially good at catching mice by just lying in wait at night and listening for the scurry of little feet. so she hears the button rattle inside the cup and wants it. It's no trick to her, she's hungry:)
